The AECS Women’s Basketball Team Aims for Queen’s Cup Qualification After Successful Season

The AECS women’s basketball team returns to competition this weekend after a two-week hiatus in which the Honor Division league has been stopped. With a very positive balance at this point in the league, the team led by Xavi Tubau will return to the league in a comfortable eighth position and very far from the relegation zone, as was its initial objective.

The two-week break, however, has not been a rest period since the AECS team has played two friendly matches and has also apparently definitively recovered its injured center Cristina Noguer, who had not yet made her debut in an official match.

Now there are three games left to finish the first round. Three days in which the prize for the top eight finishers is the Queen’s Cup. Right now AECS would be qualified for it since it occupies eighth place, but those three matches are missing, which are also against direct rivals in the dispute for those cup places, the first this Sunday against CB Navarra in the Basketball pavilion.

Xavi Tubau’s team has already changed the chip, and instead of looking towards the relegation places to avoid them, which was the objective when starting the league, they are now looking upwards, to try to finish the first round among the best eight.

Sunday’s match between AECS and Navarro, the first of the three decisive matches for the classification of the Queen’s Cup, will be played on Sunday at half past twelve in the Basketball pavilion.
