“Our purpose as an association, aligned with that of the WHO, is to achieve 70% survival in cancer in 2030 and, for this, research is necessary”, as explained by Professor Antonio Llombart, vice president of the Associated Board of the AECC of Valencia.
In this fifth edition of the grants for pre-doctoral researchers, young researchers will develop their projects in leading entities in this field, such as the Prince Felipe Research Center (CIPF), the Foundation for the Promotion of Health and Biomedical Research of the Community Valenciana (Fisabio), the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the University of Valencia (UV).
The grants have a duration of three years, extendable for up to one more year, and a total endowment that can reach up to 88,000 euros -22,000 per year- and that is possible thanks to the Runcáncer circuit of races and solidarity marches. “Our young researchers have reaped significant findings that have helped in the early detection and treatment of a disease that affects more than 282,000 people every year. For this reason we continue to bet on this type of aid and we continue to demand more funding to promote the projects “, added Professor Antonio Llombart.
