The AECC allocates 1.2 million euros to ten Navarrese cancer research projects

The Spanish Association Against Cancer (AECC) in Navarra has donated 1.2 million euros to ten Navarran projects cancer research. The ten awarded lines are works carried out at the University Clinic of Navarra (CUN), the Cima and the University of Navarra (UN) and seek to continue advancing in cancer research by focusing on the patient and continuing to increase their survival.

The ten Navarran projects received 1.2 million euros last year, within the framework of the 2021 Research Grants from the AECC, and are part of the 525 investigations that exist at the state level with funds of nearly 92 million.

Specifically, the awarded researchers have been: Daniel Ajona, Edurne San José and Javier Rodríguez, from Cima; Marta Alonso, Esperanza Martín, Rafael Martínez-Monge, Migue Fernández de Sanmamed and Marcos Casado, from the CUN; and Cristina Pangua and María Beloqui, from the UN.

The ten projects were presented this Tuesday at the Civican de Pamplona, ​​where the president of the AECC in Navarra, Juan Franco, He thanked all the researchers and pointed out that “it is essential to continue researching cancer because it saves lives. We are committed to researching all types of cancers, allocating resources to many that are not as common, but equally important”.
