The program is currently working on the development of a free application that will soon allow any citizen to accredit their identity and use the electronic signature from their mobile device.

The National Police, together with the National Currency and Stamp Factory, has designed a support that includes material, technical, security, functional and usability characteristics in accordance with the needs of the digital age.

Among the changes introduced, the new DNI includes the denomination in English –National Identity Card–, and the two-letter code of the Member State –ES in the case of Spain– has also been added on the front, printed in negative in a rectangle blue and surrounded by twelve yellow stars.
