After her rather original performance in front of the Hôtel de Ville in Paris in July 2024, actress Arielle Dombasle is returning to more sober activities: from October 2 to 6, 2024, she will chair the jury of the 35th ” Dinard British and Irish Film Festival “, announced the organizers on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
“This year, we will have the honour of welcoming the ineffable Arielle Dombasle as our president,” declared Arnaud Salmon, mayor of the chic Breton seaside town, organiser of the festival, which has maintained close ties with England throughout its history.
31 films for 6 prizes awarded
Actress and director Arielle Dombasle will therefore succeed another woman, Catherine Frot, who chaired the event’s jury last year.
Six films competing for the Hitchcock d’Or, the most prestigious prize in the competition, will try to succeed Silver Haze, awarded in 2023 : Bring Them down, Christopher Andrews, The Convert, Lee Tamahori, Poison, Désirée Nosbusch, September Says, Ariane Labed, That They May Face The Rising Sun, Pat Collins and Unicorns, Sally El Hosaini and James Krishna Floyd.
In total, 31 feature films, including nine Irish ones, will compete for six different awards.
