“Forty-two different jobs exist within our cooperative, which has a thousand jobs. Currently, we are short of silo managers but we are also hiring in technical and commercial fields on CDI, CDD and on a seasonal basis ”, confides, on Friday September 24 afternoon, Eric Brault, president of the Chartres grain cooperative Scael.
#WE ARE AGRICULTURE is a first event organized jointly by the MEE and several actors from the rural world.
At his side, Eric Thirouin, president of the chamber of agriculture of Eure-et-Loir, recalls the same evidence: “Agriculture does not mean that there is only one job for the farmer. The sector offers as many jobs and trades as the industrial or service sectors. Agriculture in Eure-et-Loir hires as many employees to collect potatoes as engineers who pilot drones or who drive sophisticated agricultural machinery. We need accountants as much as we need operations managers. We are real companies where we train our employees to the needs of our sector. “
These speeches were addressed, Friday, September 24 in the afternoon, to the participants in the first demonstration # We are agriculture, which takes place until this Saturday evening, on the Place des Halles in Chartres.
Encourage young people to go down to earth
Supported by the Center-Val de Loire Region, the House of Enterprises and Employment of the Chartres agglomeration and its agricultural partners (the chamber of agriculture, Anefa, La Scael, the Nermont high school, the Champ campus possible, the association of young farmers, the Lycée de La Saussaye, Afpa, Novabiom, ADEAR 28, the association of agricultural employees, etc.) have been investing for months in this project piloted by the tireless Sébastien Odon, project manager within the House of companies and employment of the Chartres agglomeration, supported by its president, Mickaël Tachat.
#We are Agriculture, a first on the Place des Halles in Chartres to interest young people in agricultural employment
The organizers expect nearly 600 participants for this first edition which suffered, like all events, from the uncertainties of the health crisis. The organizers just want to change the image of agriculture to better attract young people to jobs in mother earth.
