The British Royal Prosecutor’s Office (CPS) “has approved criminal proceedings against 62-year-old Kevin Spacey for four cases of sexual assault on three men,” Rosemary Ainslie, head of CPS’s special crime unit, said in a statement.

“He was also accused of inducing a person to penetrate sexual activity without consent. The allegations were made on the basis of an examination of the evidence gathered by the metropolitan police during the investigation, “she added.

The Spacey affair broke out in 2017 when American actor Anthony Rapp, 12 years younger, accused him of trying to seduce him three decades ago. Spacey said he didn’t remember the incident because he was probably very drunk.

He apologized to Rapp for his inappropriate behavior. Other similar allegations followed, such as harassing young men while he was running the Old Vic Theater. In the past, Spacey has been accused of harassment by more than 30 men.
