The artistic world was plunged into sadness, as the great Greek actor, Ilias Logothetis, died.
Their son, Alexandros Logothetis, announced the news through his personal Facebook account.
Who was Elias Logothetis?
Elias Logothetis was born in Lefkada. He was not thinking of pursuing acting, as he was more attracted to opera. He was a graduate of the Department of Political Sciences of Pantheon.
He came into contact with the theater through the Art Theater of Karolos Koon, from where he graduated in 1967, and took part in many theatrical performances. He first appeared in the cinema in 1970, in the project “Babylonia”.
He became known mainly in comedic roles from television and film appearances. He also had a leading role in “Minore tis Avgi”.
In 2000 he received positive comments from Harold Pinter for his performance in the play “Dead Zone”.
He has collaborated with the troupes Yannis Fertis-Xenias Kalogeropoulos, Kakias Analytis-Kostas Rigopoulos, Nikos Xanthopoulos, Thanasis Veggos, Angelos Antonopoulos-Mirandas Kounelakis, with the Amphitheater of Spyros Evagelatos and others.
He participated in many plays on television in the well-known “Monday Theater” (ERT1). He had also taken part in musical performances, such as the tribute to Michalis Souyul.
His wife was the actress Maria Zahari and his son was Alexandros Logothetis, who also followed acting.
