The Ostrobothnia police suspect nine people of violating the Waste Act and breaching official duty.
In October 2023, the ELY Center of South Ostrobothnia submitted a request to the police to find out whether some of the members and deputies of the Vaasa Region’s Waste Board were guilty of violating the Waste Act in their actions when the waste transport system in the area was decided.
In the preliminary investigation, the police found out, among other things, whether the members of the waste board of the Vaasa region have committed a crime by not following the exhortation given by the South Ostrobothnia ELY Center, the administrative coercion decision and the decision of the administrative court.
The preliminary investigation of the case is finished and it will be transferred to the prosecutor for consideration of charges.
