The Actions of Major General Agus Subiyanto, the Siliwangi Regional Military Commander with the Opportunity to Become the Kostrad Commander Page all

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Commander of the Regional Military Command (Pangdam) III/Siliwangi Major General (Mayjen) Agus Subiyanto is said to be one of the high-ranking officers TNI AD who has the opportunity to become the Commander of the Army Strategic Proposal Command (Pangkostrad).

The opportunity exists because Agus Subiyanto previously served as Commander of the Presidential Security Forces (Paspampres).

In addition, Agus has the opportunity to become Pangkostrad because he is currently holding the position as Pangdam.

Director of the Institute for Security and Strategic Study (ISSES) Khairul Fahmi said that the Pangkostrad was a three-star position or the rank of Lieutenant General (Letjen).

In addition to three-star officers, this position can be filled as a promotion position for two-star officers or the rank of Major General.

“It would be even better if it was filled by current or former Military Commanders and other strategic two-star positions,” said Fahmi to Kompas.com, Thursday (1/13/2022).

Besides Agus Subiyanto, another name that has the potential to be appointed as Pangkostrad is Pangdam IX/Udaya Maruli Simanjuntak.

He is the Commander of Paspampres and the son-in-law of the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.

Agus Subiyanto’s actions

Agus is a two-star general who graduated from the Military Academy (Akmil) 1991.

During his military career, he served as Head of Information for the Special Forces Command (Kopassus).

In 2009-2011, he served as Commander of Kodim 0735/Surakarta.

After wandering around in Surakarta, Agus was then trusted as Deputy Assistant Operations Division 2/Kostrad in 2011.

In 2014-2015, he became Assistant Operations for Kasdam I/Bukit Barisan and Associate Lecturer at the Command and Staff School (Seskoad) in 2015.

Furthermore, Agus was trusted to be a mid-level officer at the Army Headquarters Denma (Mabesad) in 2015-2016.

Then, the Commander of Rindam II/Sriwijaya in 2016-2017 and the Commander of Korem 132/Tadulako in 2017-2018.

Then he became Deputy Commander of the Infantry Weaponry Center for the Indonesian Army’s Education and Training Command (Wadanpussenif Kodiklat) 2019-2020

In 2020, he is trusted to be the Commander of Korem 061/Suryakancana and Commander of Paspampres in 2020-2021.

His last position was as Pangdam III/Siliwangi.
