The Acting Professions Syndicate decided to fine an amount of one million pounds to the Masha Artistic Production Company, which produces the Belly of the Whale series, and to prevent members of the Acting Professions Syndicate from dealing with director Ahmed Fawzi Saleh, the director of the series. The Syndicate revealed that anyone who cooperates with the director is subject to a penalty that may amount to disbarment.

In a related context, Dr. Ashraf Zaki, head of the Acting Professions Syndicate, said that the union decided to write off members who had not paid their union subscriptions.

Ashraf Zaki confirmed that he gives members who have not paid their subscription for a period not exceeding three years a two-week grace period to pay the amounts owed to them, and in the event of non-payment, they will be struck off and their names will be announced to prevent them from working after their memberships are removed from the union.

The Board of Directors of the Acting Professions Syndicate, headed by Dr. Ashraf Zaki, issued a decision to stop dealing with the casting directors (Ahmed Tammam, Khaled Safwat, and Ahmed Ismail) for violating the union’s laws.

The Acting Professions Syndicate’s statement said: “The Board of Directors of the Acting Professions Syndicate decided to stop dealing with the casting director (Ahmed Tammam, Khaled Safwat, and Ahmed Ismail), due to their violation of Syndicate Law No. 25 of 1978, and the Syndicate’s Board of Directors decided to take legal measures and inform the Public Prosecution against them.”
