Meulaboh (ANTARA) – Aceh Regional General Secretary Taqwallah said the Aceh government and a number of regions in Aceh have made vaccine certificates the main requirement in obtaining government administration services.
“Including the provision of social assistance to the community, in accordance with the Presidential Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia number 14 of 2021 Article 13A,” said Taqwallah in Meulaboh, Monday.
For this reason, he asked all policy makers in the West Aceh District Government, from village officials to sub-district and district government agencies, to monitor the progress of vaccination in their respective regions.
This aims to ensure that the implementation of vaccination in every village and sub-district can run smoothly, and according to the targets set by the central government.
Taqwallah said in addition to implementing health protocols (prokes), vaccination is one form of effort to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
He acknowledged that vaccination does not guarantee a person will be free from COVID-19, but vaccines can minimize the symptoms caused by the deadly virus.
According to him, from the data he has, many COVID-19 patients in Aceh have died because the vaccine has not been injected.
He hopes that all levels of government in Aceh should provide the right understanding to the public about the benefits of vaccines in preventing the transmission of COVID-19.
Taqwallah added, the COVID-19 vaccine is the same as smallpox, folio, and miningitis vaccines which have proven successful in overcoming the outbreak that hit Indonesia some time ago.
“This vaccine aims to increase immunity or body resistance against exposure to COVID-19, so that the risks posed by the virus can be minimized,” said Taqwallah.
