The acclaimed Hyundai Ioniq models have won three other major awards: AINA

Three more major trophies have been added to the prize pool for Hyundai’s new generation electric cars Ioniq 5 and Ioniq 6. The Ioniq 6 triumphed in the Ecobest 2023 category of the European car buyer consultation platform Autobest, while the Ioniq 5 won won the award in the group of models that debuted on the market a year earlier. Even the US men’s magazine Esquire named the Ioniq 5 the best car of 2022.

Hyundai’s newest electric car, Ioniq 6, has been chosen by a group of independent Autobest consultants as the best electric-drive model to appear on the market in 2023. Ioniq 5 contributes to the development of electric vehicles in Europe from 2021 and another award for this model is further proof that Hyundai’s sculptural design, which responds to consumer expectations, was the right decision for the development of the next generation of electric cars.

The Ecobest Award is given to highlight the best electric cars to be released in the coming year. It is appointed by a commission of independent experts representing 31 European countries, made up of as many members. The market of the whole region covers more than 750 million people. people.

“The new Hyundai Ioniq 6, which will appear in showrooms in early 2023, is an extremely advanced new generation electric car, created according to a completely different concept. Particular attention was paid to the best possible aerodynamic solutions, hence the performance indicators air resistance have reached a new level. This concept has enabled a range of over 600 km on a single charge, while creating a commanding style that will make this model stand out on the road.

The new Hyundai model surprises not only with its bold design, but also with the most advanced technologies. The Ecobest rating has always set an example for other manufacturers, so we believe this is just the first of many awards that the Ioniq 6 will receive in the future, says Dan Vardie, founder and CEO of Autobest.

One charge: more than 600 km

The Ioniq 6 is built on Hyundai’s new modular electric vehicle platform (E-GMP). This model is distinguished by a spacious interior and an abundance of state-of-the-art technology. The distance traveled on a single charge is up to 614 km (according to WLTP mixed cycle), and the new platform’s 800-volt ultra-fast charging technology allows you to obtain enough energy to travel up to 351 km in just 15 minutes.

Thanks to its ultra-slim body, the Ioniq 6 can travel long distances on a single charge, with a drag coefficient of just 0.21. Inside the electric car there is a lot of legroom, many functional systems are installed, and sustainable materials are used in the decoration. Thus, this model meets the needs of the modern driver to the maximum. Builders and designers have also carefully considered every detail so that Ioniq 6 has the least possible impact on the environment.

Autobest also announced the full results of the 2022 Ecobest Challenge. Production electric cars were tested in real conditions to verify how sustainable their use really is.

Charging the battery to 20 to 80 percent when connected to a 350 kW DC power source, the Ioniq 5 electric car ranked second among all models in terms of charge time. The Hyundai model took third place when measuring the battery charging speed over a distance of 100 km. These results confirmed the effectiveness of the technology applied by the manufacturer, which makes electric cars more attractive to a wider range of consumers.

The successful image of the Ioniq 5 was further strengthened by the award of the best car of the year 2022 by Esquire magazine. The editors of the world-famous men’s lifestyle magazine noted that the Ioniq 5 is very practical and original in appearance – an extremely rare combination when looking at mass-produced cars. In the fight for this prestigious award, this is what allowed this model to beat other electric cars, city SUVs and even supercars.

The developers of Ioniq 5 chose elegant design and simplicity instead of wild imagination. One gets the impression that nowadays all cars are created by an unimaginable number of specialists who try to cram as many details as possible.

Luckily, Hyundai avoided that. The car should be like this. Remember when you unboxed your first iPhone? It’s the same feeling when you get behind the wheel of the Ioniq 5 for the first time,” notes Kevin Sintumuang, culture and lifestyle editor at Esquire magazine.
