José Luis Martínez-Almeida and Teresa Urquijo celebrated their wedding on April 6th at the San Francisco de Borja parish church in Madrid. An event attended by the cream of Spanish society, and which marked the start of the couple’s life together, who have always been very well-matched.
Their first holiday as a married couple, therefore, could not have been more special for both of them. The couple moved to the luxurious Sotogrande development in Cádiz, where the Urquijo family has a fabulous house and where they have been able to spend a few days of rest, taking walks or enjoying the beach; at least until Teresa Urquijo suffered a small accident that forced them to return to the capital earlier than planned.

The wife of the mayor of Madrid suffered a setback that forced her to use crutches to walk, so the couple decided to return to Madrid early. As reported by Diez Minutos, which showed several images of the lawyer using crutches to walk, the injury does not seem too serious, as she is not wearing any kind of cast.
However, the couple have considered the injury serious enough to have to interrupt their summer vacation and return home earlier than planned. The couple has thus left Sotogrande, where they have made the most of the few days they have spent on the Cadiz coast.

Among other things, the couple has enjoyed their days in the south playing golf, walking their dogs on the beaches and attending mass. Now, it’s time to rest and take things easy, especially for the lawyer.
Throughout this summer, the couple has not stopped travelling here and there. Together they attended Natalia Santos Yanes’ wedding in Valencia last June and Victoria Urquijo’s in Soria in July; Martínez-Almeida made a getaway to the Camino de Santiago and to celebrate the Virgen de la Paloma (15 August) and both went to Granada to participate in the IV ‘Ciudades Madrid-Motril’ Trophy, in the Granadan town.
Looking forward to becoming parents
According to their latest statements, the couple is also considering becoming parents in the near future. Both Teresa Urquijo and José Luis Martínez-Almeida are practicing Catholics and members of large families, so it seems that they will not limit themselves to just one child.

The PP politician had already mentioned in his wedding speech that he “felt obliged to return the blessing of having found Teresa in the form of sons or daughters”, and when recently asked about the possibility of expanding the family, Martínez-Almeida was very sincere: “I would like to be one sooner or later, but I would like to be a father and she a mother. Whether it is sooner or later, but let it be.”
