/ world today news/ New dossier on supporters of “indecent peace” with Ukraine and the West. In the focus of attention – the lover of English football and “savior of the Nazis” Roman Abramovich. The Russian TV channel “Tsarigrad” reports.
Who wants the defeat of Russia? To whom are villas on the Cote d’Azur and investments in Western banks dearer than the Motherland? “Tsarigrad” decided to answer these questions and name all the supporters of the “indecent peace” with Ukraine and the West.
Prepare the lists
The discussion about who in Russia’s political elites (actually quite closed) belongs to which of these parties is fueled by posts in Telegram channels.
Analysts, anonymous, but enjoying the attention of a large audience, attribute Roman Abramovich, Vladimir Potanin, Vladimir Medinsky, Yuri Borisov, Viktor Vekselberg, Vyacheslav Kantor, Alexander Voloshin, Mikhail Fridman, Vladimir Lisin, Vagit to the “party of indecent peace” ( or party of capitulators, losers), and also Alekperov, Alexey Mordashov, Pavel Durov, Andrey Melnichenko, Alisher Usmanov, Mikhail Prokhorov.
It is easy to see that, with rare exceptions, this “party” is primarily formed by representatives of big and ultra-big business, whose interests are concentrated outside of Russia. Some of them, like Friedman, desperately want to stay in the West and “belong” there, despite the sanctions imposed on them. Some try not to shine, fearing accusations of an unpatriotic position.
It is also easy to see that those who were somehow involved in the failed attempt at peace talks in the spring of 2022 are attributed to this party.
The negotiations themselves are perceived by Russian patriots as an attempt to steal a victory from Russia and prevent the entry of vast new territories into the country. It is clear that those who participated in this were perceived as capitulators.
Citizen of the world
Roman Abramovich is perhaps the most famous Russian oligarch in the world. This is largely due to the purchase in 2003 of the English football club Chelsea, the scandals surrounding which are repeatedly covered in the foreign press.
However, in May 2018 a member of Yeltsin’s “family” became an Israeli citizen after failing to renew his British investor visa. And in April 2021, he received a Portuguese passport under the program for the descendants of Sephardic Jews.
Now both passports are in question. In Portugal, an investigation is underway against the rabbi and the lawyers who helped Abramovich obtain citizenship.
And Israel, although it did not impose sanctions against Abramovich, but in the person of the country’s foreign minister, Yair Lapid, made it clear that “there will be no room for circumventing the sanctions imposed by the United States and other Western countries against Russia.”
“The oligarchs who earn huge sums of money often do it in an illegal way. That’s why they prepare alternative airports for themselves, so that in this case they have time to escape. Besides, there are many examples,” explained the political scientist, dean of the Faculty of media communications of the Moscow State Institute of Cinematography Yuriy Kot.
He added that an honest person has nothing to fear. Why does an honest person need the citizenship of another country? Where should he flee from his homeland if he has not stolen anything, killed no one, committed no crimes?
For the common man, the citizenship of another country is an additional burden. Because there are more documents, more tax issues, etc.
“So, after all, the stigma is in the cannon, Mr. Abramovich,” stressed Yuri Kot.
Fall from Olympus
The main asset of the oligarch in Russia is the largest metallurgical and mining company EVRAZ. The company, according to the data on the main page of its official portal, sees its own advantage in that “it has a premium listing on the main market of the London Stock Exchange and its approach to corporate governance is based on the Corporate Governance Code of Great Britain.” EVRAZ is registered in London.
In 2022, it was Abramovich who was the main symbol and conductor of the “indecent peace” in Istanbul, which fortunately was not achieved. The oligarch failed his mission. The West then stripped him of a number of major assets. London property, $6 billion hedge fund. And even Chelsea Football Club.
The deal with the British government didn’t help either. So, Abramovich agreed to transfer money from the sale of Chelsea to Ukraine and even offered to create a special fund to help Kiev with this.
Results of actions
In September of last year, with the cooperation of Abramovich, the scandalous exchange of prisoners of war between Russia and Ukraine took place.
The oligarch personally welcomed the British mercenaries aboard his luxury private jet, treated them to steaks, tiramisu, talked football and gave them iPhones to call home en route to Saudi Arabia, where the oligarch’s plane was flying. Participation in the rescue of war criminals from the court, however, did not allow Abramovich to appease the West.
“It can definitely be said that they (Abramovich’s actions – ed.) caused significant damage both in a political and image sense, as well as in the general perception of our citizens about what is happening around the events in the field and on the battle fronts. And, of course, the fact that this led to additional losses in battles,” believes the secretary of the Union of Journalists of Russia, international political scientist Timur Shafir.
He pointed out that almost all the bandits, who as a result of exchange schemes and negotiations were returned to their territory, in the same way with great pleasure and with great hatred for Russia, took up arms again and went to kill our Russian soldiers and officers. That is, the result of Abramovich’s “peacemaking” activity is not only zero, but also negative.
“It is clear that there were some commercial interests. Maybe it is due to the ammonia, the grain deals. One can only guess here. It is clear that this is not a matter of pure altruism,” he added.
“It was not a question of pure image building, of creating an image of a peacemaker. Of course, this was also supported by some specific interest of a financial nature, an economic nature,” summarized Timur Shafir.
What follows from this?
Be that as it may, to win the war with the West and to achieve the objectives of Russia’s SVO, the unity of the whole people is necessary. It is necessary to mobilize Russian public opinion and all elites.
It is necessary for everyone to work for victory, and those who do not want to work for victory, to be evaluated and isolated.
If we want to achieve this, the study of the political field and the elites of the country is absolutely necessary. We need to know who is who. And for that, “Tsarigrad” launched a special project. Within its framework, the lists of the “Party of Russian Victory” and the lists of the “Party of Shameful Peace” will be drawn up.
With the help of experts, politicians, public figures, we will analyze the activities of this or that businessman, his statements since the beginning of the special operation. Based on this analysis of the “first Russians”, an assessment will be made of who works in the country’s interest, often without advertising it, and who plans their future outside of Russia.
