Organized by the DGGN’s Office for Social Action, the Injured and the Disabled (BASBH), the national “Ad Refectio” courses aim, through sports and socio-cultural activities, to restore the confidence of the injured, to break the spiral of isolation and facilitate cohesion.
“Some trainees resume the practice of sport, many try new activities. They rediscover the taste for effort and the spirit of camaraderie »emphasizes Lieutenant Franck, project manager for the reconstruction of sports-injured people within the BASBH and organizer of the course.
During this stay, the soldiers and their families, who can join the trainees over the last three days, benefit from listening, advice and support from actors specialized in the care of the wounded, such as monitors specialized sports, clinical psychologists from the gendarmerie and physiotherapists. These support professionals facilitate free speech during scheduled times, but also throughout the stay.
Started a week ago on the 8the national course “Ad Refectio” took place until Sunday 1is May, in Lège-Cap Ferret, within the Grand Crohot campsite, an establishment belonging to the Maison de la Gendarmerie Foundation. It brought together seven soldiers injured in service.
The trainees were visited by General Jean-Marc Détré, deputy commanding officer of the region, who represented the Director General, and Colonel Gwendal Durand, deputy director of personnel support at the DGGN. On this occasion, individual interviews were conducted, so that everyone could explain their situation and the difficulties they face.
