The 8th edition of Dunefest takes shape in Miquelon-Langlade

There are only a few days left before welcoming festival-goers to the isthmus of Miquelon-Langlade. The members of the Eklectik association and the various partners are working hard to prepare the 8th edition of Dunefest, on the theme of prohibition.

Preparations for Dunefest are progressing well on the Isthmus of Miquelon-Langlade. The organizers are confident that everything will be ready on D-Day.

The work is meticulous since it involves installing the necessary equipment for a festival taking place on a sand dune, without running water and without direct electricity.

To make this event possible, the volunteers of the Eklectik association work hand in hand with external partners.

All the services of Miquelon are behind (…) The DTAM of Saint-Pierre, the community (…) All the volunteers are there but there are also many people behind.

Mikaël Renou, president of the Eklectik association.

All sound equipment was sent from Miquelon and Saint-Pierre. Subwoofers, cables … everything must be thought out in advance.

But the main element, like every year, is the generator. Everything depends on it to ensure the proper functioning of the festival since it allows the site to be supplied with energy.

Music but also catering

This year again, several dishes will be served throughout the weekend. A prefabricated stand of 25 square meters is already ready to welcome the team of cooks.

Between 7 and 8 people provide all the meals so that makes, it seems to me, 3000 plates in the weekend.

Gaëlle Audoux, secretary of the Eklectik association.

There is still work to be done but the volunteers are confident and soon ready to welcome the few hundred festival-goers expected on Friday July 30, 2021.
