The 86th anniversary concert of Raimonds Pauls will take place in Dzintari Concert Hall

Riga, January 10, LETA. Maestro Raimonds Pauls will celebrate the 86th anniversary of the event at the Dzintari Concert Hall on January 12 at 7 pm, Indra Vilipsone, the representative of the venue, informed LETA.

The concert will feature musicians with whom Paul has developed musical friendships for several years. Soprano Dināra Rudāne and singer Daumants Kalniņš will perform at the piano next to the maestro, as well as the vocal group “Framest”, with whom the maestro has performed many concert programs and premiered new compositions. The singers will be accompanied by the Latvian Radio Big Band, whose patron is the maestro himself.

Vilipsone said that the concert will feature the jazz composition “Game Night at Dunte Pub”, Paul’s instrumental music compositions – “Impressions” and “Mountain Sketches” – and songs with the words of Imants Ziedonis, such as “Cher ami” and “Sit me Prusta” “The Death of a Wasp”, “Giving a Star”, “My Child”, the ballad “Don’t Bring Stars in a Room” and other compositions by Paul from different creative periods. Its big band has been arranged by Latvian jazz musician Gunārs Rozenbergs and Kārlis Vanags.

Concert attendees will be required to present a vaccination or Covid-19 certificate, as well as an identity document. You will need to use a mouth and nose cover while attending the concert.
