Wrong habits cause diabetes

1- Skipping breakfast

A review published in the Journal of Nutrition in 2019 revealed that people who do not eat breakfast have an increased risk of developing diabetes.

Therefore, attention should be paid to eating breakfast daily, with the need to contain proteins, healthy fats, dietary fibers and complex carbohydrates.

2- Not drinking coffee

Some people do not prefer to drink coffee, because of its bitter taste, but it is one of the drinks that reduces the risk of developing type 2 diabetes, because it contains plant compounds that maintain beta cells in the pancreas, which are responsible for producing the hormone insulin, according to a review published in the “Nutrients” magazine.

4- Drinking alcohol

It is necessary to stop drinking alcohol, because it causes chronic inflammation in the pancreas, which impairs the ability of beta cells to produce insulin, which leads to diabetes.

6- Smoking

The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) warns that smoking increases the risk of developing diabetes by 30 to 40%.

7- Eat processed foods

After reviewing some studies, researchers noted that people who eat a large amount of processed foods are more likely to develop diabetes, obesity, heart disease, depression, and cancer.
