The 8-M program in the municipality of Castrillón will begin next Monday with a video-story session starring actress Olga Cuervo. The event, which will take place virtually, will begin at 5.15 pm and can be followed through the YouTube channel of the City Council’s Equality area.
‘Pintoras’, by Ángeles Caso, is the book that will star in this new session of the video story activity. This work, designed for a child audience, is made up of 25 little stories about the lives of women artists who were never given the historical importance they really deserved. The actress Olga Cuervo will be in charge of bringing to the public the works of María Cosway, Charlotte Salomon or Loïs Mailou Jones, among many others included in this book.
As explained by the Equality area of the City Council, from where this activity is being organized, the book is designed for children but can also be interesting for adults. In addition to the history of the 25 artists forgotten by history, the work also includes illustrations by Laura López Balza and closes with a final part in which some educational games are collected. The appointment will take place on Monday but the video will be published on the Equality channel for people who cannot attend.
