1. Liverpool lose first points! For his entry into the Premier League, Liverpool could not do better than a draw at Fulham (2-2). Jostled by a determined promotion, the Reds were led twice on achievements by Mitrovic (32nd, 72nd sp). But the flagship rookie of the summer, Nuez, entering the second period, made the difference by equalizing with a nice heel (64th) before offering the second goal Salah (80th). A disappointing but ultimately flattering score for the vice-champion of Europe and England.
2. Darwin Nuez enjoys his first Premier League goal! Entering the 51st minute in place of Firmino, Darwin Nuez only needed 13 minutes to score his first Premier League goal in the draw between Liverpool and Fulham (2-2). On a cross from Salah from the right, the new Reds striker took the ball from a Madjer! A great way for the former Benfica player to start his new adventure in the English league. A week ago, the Uruguayan scored his first goal in the jersey of the Mersey club in the victory of his new team against Manchester City (3-1) in the Community Shield.
3. Monaco smiles again. After his draw against PSV Eindhoven (1-1) in the preliminary round of the Champions League, Monaco reacted well by winning Strasbourg (2-1) for its first Ligue 1 match. ASM won thanks to Diatta (43rd) and Diop (53rd), while Diallo (65th) closed the gap for Strasbourg. To see the debrief and the NOTES of the players, it’s here!
4. Diatta Missile! After a difficult last season following a serious knee injury, Monaco winger Diatta distinguished himself against Strasbourg (2-1). And in what way! The Senegalese international sent an overpowered and perfect volley in the Strasbourg goal. An unstoppable strike and a pure delight!
5. Jorginho kicks off Chelsea’s season with success. If Liverpool miss their Championship debuts, Chelsea won without shining on the lawn of Everton (1-0). Lacking inspiration for the great first of rookies Koulibaly and Sterling, the London club took advantage of a penalty converted by Jorginho (45th + 9) to win. In the end, the new team of Cucurella, author of an interesting entry during the last quarter of an hour, will have suffered but won to take 6th place in the standings.
6. The Tottenham card! The London club easily dictated its law against Southampton (4-1). Yet picked up cold with the opener from Ward-Prowse (12th), the Spurs quickly reacted with the equalizer of Sessegnon on a caviar from Kulusevski (21st), before Dier perfectly cut a cross from Son to give the advantage his team (31st). In the second half, Lenglet’s teammates, who entered at the end of the game, took advantage of a goal against his side from Salisu (60th) to widen the gap, before Kulusevski took part in the celebration (63rd). With this first success as wide as deserved, Tottenham temporarily takes the lead in the English championship.
7. Dortmund offers a shock to start! Borussia Dortmund starts its season with a prestigious success! This Saturday, BVB won at home against Bayer Leverkusen (1-0) on the first day of the Bundesliga. With rookies Adeyemi and Schlotterbeck as holders, the Marsupials quickly took the advantage thanks to their captain Reus who scored a fox goal (10th). In the ranking, the Edin Terzic band takes 6th place. Moussa Diaby and his teammates are 14th.
8. Saint-Etienne still does not win… A difficult start to the season for AS Saint-Etienne in Ligue 2. After an opening defeat against Dijon (1-2), ASSE conceded a home draw against Nmes (1-1), on the second day of the championship. The Nmois had opened the scoring thanks to a goal from Thomasen (32nd), but Krasso equalized from the penalty spot just before the break for the Greens of Laurent Batlles (45th), who remain bottom of the standings with -2 points. The Crocos get their first point.
