The way all political parties are behaving at the moment, we can safely talk about the next eighth special election. This is what GERB leader Boyko Borisov told journalists in the parliament before the 7th was scheduled and passed.

We do the same thing seven times, he pointed out, adding that there is a saying that you may trip over a rock once, but “if you trip again, you’re stupid.” He clarified that he does not respond to the attacks so that a government can be formed after the vote.

“With these insults, nobody will be able to do anything at the moment, because every day the topic in the parliament is the same”, he added and explained that if the tone between the parties remains the same, after a month and a half the situation will be the same and it will not can talk to each other.

“As people are, so are politicians. There are 240 parties. If they can’t find someone to vote for, and 250 get up, it will still be the same.

I don’t blame them,” the former prime minister insisted.

“God delays, but he does not forget, it turned out that so is our judicial system” – this is how the leader of GERB commented on the action against Rumen Gaitanski – Valka.

A day ago, the Commission for Combating Corruption, the Prosecutor’s Office and the police entered the businessman’s properties because of an illegally used loan from the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB). It is about BGN 150 million given to a company connected to Valka.

Borisov recalled the “war” he waged as mayor of Sofia with Sergey Stanishev and the “garbage crisis”: “I remember Valka very well. I will never forget when I fought with Stanishev – then as the mayor of Sofia, and Prime Minister Stanishev went out with Gaitanski to wash the streets when I was having crises with the garbage. When they put the buckets away for a night. As much as I have fought, no one has,” he pointed out.

Regarding the Bulgarian Development Bank (BDB) and its former director Stoyan Mavrodiev, who falls within the scope of the investigation, the leader of GERB recalled the dismissal of Mavrodiev in 2020 and added: I have never dealt with this bank directly.

“It’s good that they took action. Now they should also check Bulgartabac, as Kiril Petkov said,” he recommended.
