Kidding aside, picture Guards it is here not only because of the aforementioned actress, who is probably better from film to film, but mainly because the director Chloe Okuno has discovered out of the way with his slow, careful and deliberately measured direction.

The film tells the story of an American couple who move to Bucharest, where a young woman soon discovers that an unknown man is watching her from the house next door. The problem is, no one believes it. If you’re in the mood for a slice-of-life feel, a slow-paced plot, or another captivating performance by Monroe, Watcher is the perfect place to start.

6. American Psycho (2000, b. Mary Herron)

Compared to the original Psycho is this a little less…um, ‘psycho’, but that doesn’t change the fact that this is a very dark thriller starring the great Christian Bale as a Wall Street financial wizard who owns everything going in his life and in the world at his mercy literally at your feet. The only problem? That he is frustrated by everything! And so he decides to start doing something about it.

American Psycho is a perfect study of the men who today would be among Andrew Tate’s followers and the like. The film is not very scary, although there is a lot of gore, what is really scary about it is how accurate and timeless it was in capturing the fragile male psyche that only takes a little to break . And we know from history that when it breaks, it doesn’t end well.

5. A collector of kisses (1997, dir. Gary Fleder)

An older hit with Morgan Freeman and Ashley Judd, who was a bit overpowered by the two-year-old Seven.
