This morning, the 6th edition of the “100 Paladas Solidarias Suma League Against Breast Cancer” was presented at the Marina Dénia Sports and Tourist Port, which will be held on Sunday, September 29The presentation was attended by the captain-director of Marina Dénia, Gabriel Martinezthe Councilor for Economic Promotion, Mª José García, the doctor and rower of the Marina Dénia Rowing Club, Michel Lettelier and the member of the board of directors of the Rem Club, Vanessa Nicholas.

“This is the most humane and beautiful activity that the Rowing Club carries out and we are very proud to be able to accompany them every year,” said Gabriel Martínez. “We have been doing it for six years, we started as a headquarters and years later we have managed to have a team of women who have overcome breast cancer and soon we will have two,” said Vanessa Nicolau.

The Part One The challenge will be carried out in 11:30 to 13:30 hours and registrations from 8:00 to 9:00 am, in the tent set up in Marina Dénia. Here, athletes who have overcome breast cancer or who have suffered from a related disease will row. The legs of each challenge will have a distance of between 350 and 400 meters (100 strokes). second part of this regatta, Challenge for Equality, teams of men and women who practice rowing for leisure will compete in this competition. The distance they will cover will be 1,000 metres.

This year, as a novelty, a talk will be held on Friday 27 September at 7:30 pm, entitled “Rowing as a lifeguard”, in which the benefits of rowing for people who have overcome breast cancer will be discussed, with the participation of Dr. Santana, the coach Maite Lloret and Lourdes Ordóñez and Maite Faus from the Marina Dénia Rowing Club.

“Thank you to Vanessa and Maite for the work you are doing and to the Rowing Club for the support we receive from the rowers. On the day of the regatta, a lot of people are needed to work to prepare for the regatta,” said Michel Lattelier.

For her part, Mª José García commented that “we will always support these important initiatives and we hope that they will continue forever.”
