The 67th Venice Film Festival begins – 2024-04-12 17:50:47

The jury at the 67th Venice International Film Festival will be chaired by American director Quentin Tarantino

The 67th edition of the international film festival in Venice will be opened tonight with the film “Black Swan” by the American director Darren Aronovsky, the KROSS News Agency reported. The main roles are played by Natalie Portman and Vincent Cassel.

The films “Somewhere” by Sofia Coppola, “Speechless Souls” by Alexey Fedorchenko, and “Vase” by François Ozon are awaited with great interest. 24 films are participating in the competition program, of which six are American, four Italian and three French. Asian cinema will be represented by two Japanese and one Chinese film. Four films will compete separately in the 3D film category, which dates back to last year. In total, 79 films from 34 countries will premiere at the festival. The jury at the 67th Venice International Film Festival will be chaired by American director Quentin Tarantino. This year’s Golden Lion Lifetime Achievement Award will go to Chinese director John Wu.

The Venice Film Festival will continue until September 11 and will be closed with director Julie Taymor’s film “The Tempest” based on Shakespeare’s play.
