If you want to buy an SUV but are on a tight budget, then the second-hand market is an option you can turn to.
The SUV segment is booming, and this is driven by the demand that manufacturers are facing. Many of the people who want a new car are turning to buying an SUV model.
SUVs are very popular and the prices at which they are sold are commensurate with demand. Today we have prepared a top with six of these models. There are second-hand alternatives that cost no more than 4000 euros and can be found on the engine.
The first SUV on our list is the Mitsubishi Outlander. The first generation Outlander was produced between 2001 and 2006. The example we found has a 2.0 liter petrol engine under the hood and develops 136 horsepower. It is linked to a five-speed manual gearbox. The car also has four-wheel drive. The car has 190,000 kilometers on board and costs 3850 euros.
Hyundai Tucson
The Tucson was one of Hyundai’s first SUVs. It is a practical model with a lot of interior space and has sold quite well. While it’s not the prettiest vehicle on this list, it’s one of the few cars for those who really need an SUV. The one we found is from 2008 and has a 2.0 liter petrol engine with 141 horsepower. It also has four-wheel drive. The ad says the car has 187,000 kilometers and the asking price is 2950 euros.
Toyota introduced the RAV4 to the market in 1994. It is a vehicle whose name translates to Recreational Active Vehicle. The model we have selected is from 2000 and has 173,000 kilometers on board. It is a three-door model, such as the Suzuki Jimny for example. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter engine that produces 150 horsepower. The gearbox is a five-speed manual and the power is sent to all four wheels. The asking price for this Toyota RAV4 is 3200 euros.
Suzuki Jimny
If we mentioned it a little earlier, it’s time to bring it to your attention. The Jimny is the kind of car that looks miniaturized. It is one of the smallest SUVs in existence and continues to be produced today in a new generation. The current example is from 2000 and has only 107,000 kilometers on board. Under the hood is a tiny 1.3-liter engine that develops 82 horsepower. However, the car is light. Of course, it has a selectable 4 × 4 system. The asking price for this car is 3699 euros.
Nissan X-Trail
It can be said that it is an alternative for Dacia Duster. The Nissan X-Trail is spacious, off-road capable and has fairly simple mechanics. What we found is a model produced in 2002, with 291,000 kilometers on board. Under the hood is a 2.0-liter naturally aspirated engine that produces 140 horsepower. Of course, we have an all-wheel drive system. The car also has an LPG system.
Suzuki Grand Vitara
We close the list with another Suzuki model, this time slightly larger. It’s about the Grand Vitara. It is a compact SUV, but with proportions that guarantee sufficient interior space for the transport of passengers and luggage. The copy we found is from 2006 and has 201,142 kilometers. Under the hood is a 1.9-liter diesel engine that produces 129 horsepower. The car also has a 4 × 4 system selectable by a switch on the dashboard. The asking price for this car is 4000 euros.
