The 50 euro banknote that is worth a lot: here is the reason

The single European currency, in force since 2002 in Italy and in many countries of the European Union, has already changed its appearance and materials several times, both in banknotes and coins: often to stem the ever-present counterfeiting but also to present more or less marked restyling graphics but in addition to this the aesthetic differences are usually represented by defects or printing errors, as we will see.

Like all paper money specimens, the rarity factor is what determines the actual value from the nominal value, as well as the state of conservation. In spite of the coins, the banknotes of the single currency have not undergone any real changes that can cause the value of a single copy to rise considerably.

50 euro with “error”

Minting errors but also randomness in terms of numbering a 50 euro banknote can lead the actual value in terms of collecting to increase even a lot, precisely because these peculiarities increase the uniqueness of the specimen.

For example, a peculiarity in this type of paper money has seen some errors such as the wording “100 euro” on the relative thread that can be seen against the light: this wording, which normally shows the same value as the banknote. This “mistake” leads a 50 euro banknote to be worth even up to 400.

Serial number

The rarity is also highlighted by the serial number, present on each banknote: already a copy that has all different numbers is rarer than others, and the level of rarity increases if, on the contrary, the digits that compose it are represented by 3 or 2 digits.

Obviously, the situation would become even more moneyed in the case of a banknote with a serial number consisting of a single digit
