The food and drink emojis have enriched conversations in Twitter during 2020. In addition, they are elements that allow to know the gastronomy of other countries and return to the more universal network.
Tweets about cooking nearly tripled this year
, said Tracy McGraw, the company’s global consumer communications manager Twitter.
Trends in food-related emojis suggest everyone developed a big tooth for sweets and all those video calls created a spike in adult drinks
McGraw said.
In addition to publicizing the most used food emojis on the social network, McGraw also made public the 5 tweets with the most “likes” and the 5 most retweeted tweets of 2020.

Emoji de Dango
Dango is a Japanese sweet made with rice flour. The emoji shows three colored rice flour dumplings served on a skewer. Dango’s emoji was used 120% more during 2020.
Cupcake emoji
The emoji of Cupcake, also called the Magdalena emoji, 81% more used in 2020. This delicious dessert was ranked as one of the favorites of the audience.
Liquor glass emoji
This emoji reveals that despite all the circumstances, during the year 2020 perhaps many shared a drink at home. This emoji was used 77% more in 2020.
Slushie emoji
The slushie emoji (candy made with crushed ice and syrup) was shared 56% more times in 2020, becoming the 4th preferred by users.
Cookie emoji
How not to adore cookies? The fifth most used emoji of 2020 is the cookie with a 45% more usage among tweeters.
