The 4th edition of the Traversée de Chartres will take place this Sunday, June 28

Organized by the Vintage Cars Association of Beauce and by the Rencard Chartres, both chaired by James Lefièvre, the Traversée de Chartres by the RN 10 is an important meeting for owners of old vehicles.
They are expected in numbers, Sunday June 28, at the start of the 4th edition of this event.

Vehicles prior to 1986

“This free event is open to all vehicles prior to 1986,” says James Lefièvre. “There will be cars and motorcycles, of course, but also military vehicles, tractors …”.

Participants are invited to meet at 9 a.m. in the parking lot of the Leroy-Merlin store at the Carrefour shopping center. “For reasons of health security, there will be no registration table,” insists James Lefièvre. “A sheet indicating the route and the instructions to be followed will be given to each participant”.

The Traversée de Chartres returns this Sunday

The parade starts at 10 a.m. “The idea is to ride cushy by mixing with the flow of traffic,” says James Lefièvre.

Regarding the itinerary: “We will descend towards the Place Morard, then we will follow the boulevards on the banks of the Eure to pass in front of the Butte des Charbonniers, Place Châtelet, and we will cross the Place des Épars before taking the direction from Lisant to reach the parking lot of the Leclerc center in Barjouville, between 11:30 am and 12 noon. ”

There, vehicles will be invited to disperse upon arrival. “No friendship pot will be organized, as was the case in previous editions”.

No regrouping. “This event must above all not encourage a grouping of people,” insists James Lefièvre, who will be intransigent on this point. “Participation in this event requires the wearing of a mask and respect for barrier gestures. But that does not prevent amateurs from coming to watch our vehicles pass along the course ”.
