Residents of the Polish city of Bielsko-Biala presented a Fiat 126p to Tom Hanks in 2017. In addition, enthusiasts do not accidentally choose such an unusual gift. The year before, the film actor had been filmed several times with similar models in Budapest. Before handing over the car to the new owner, the Poles restored the subcompact car and also completely redesigned the interior, upholstering it in bright green leather. Several thematic emblems and a quote from the cult movie “Forest Gump” appeared in the interior of the small car.
The technical components of the car remain the same. Under the hood of the Fiat 126 is a two-cylinder engine with 23 horsepower, which is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission. Polish enthusiasts are investing about $ 20,000 to upgrade the car. The $ 83,500 was paid for the exclusive Fiat during the auction. All proceeds from the sale of Tom Hanks’ subcompact Fiat will go to the Hidden Heroes Charitable Foundation, which supports people caring for veterans.
