The 43,000 Primary and Childhood students in Cantabria start the course normally

SANTANDER, 8 (EUROPA PRESS)

The nearly 43,000 Infant, Primary and Special Education students in Cantabria returned to classrooms normally this Thursday in what is the first school year that begins without Covid prevention measures after the pandemic, except for those that apply to the population group. , such as the use of masks in school transport.

The Cantabrian education system has this year the attendance of 81,133 students, of which 60,034 enrolled in public centers and 18,008 in subsidized private centers.

As for the teaching staff, in Cantabria 8,446 teachers and professors begin the course of public non-university education, of which 3,380 in the Infantile and Primary phase.

As reported by the Ministry of Education in a press release, it is a course with many innovations, some deriving from the application of the new LOMLOE Education Law, others due to new projects and resources deriving from the arrival of European funds, and others, fruit of the initiative of the Cantabrian government.

Of the first group, the implementation of the new curricula in Infancy and in the odd-numbered years of Primary, Secondary and Baccalaureate schools stands out.

Also under the LOMLOE, 125 Cantabrian students will debut with the new General Baccalaureate, which will be taught during this first year of implementation in a total of 10 public institutes of the 48 that the Autonomous Community has.

In addition, there are significant developments not related to the new Law, including the reduction of the ratios from 25 to 20 in the second cycle of Early Childhood Education of the public network, the launch of the first annual classes and the Therapeutic Educational Unit.
