A very high risk of fire (risk category 4) is predicted tomorrow in the Region of Crete and in areas of the northern Aegean, according to the Fire Hazard Prediction Map issued by the General Secretariat of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection.
Specifically, a very high risk of fire is predicted tomorrow for the following areas:
- North Aegean Region (Samos Region, Ikaria Region, Chios Region)
- Region of Crete
The General Secretariat of Civil Protection of the Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has informed the competent state agencies involved in the official service, as well as the Regions and Municipalities of the above areas, so that they are on increased civil protection readiness in order to immediately deal with any fire incidents.
At the same time, the GPP recommends that citizens be especially careful and avoid activities in the open air that can cause a fire by negligence, such as burning dry grass and branches or cleaning residues, the use of machines that cause sparks such as circular saws, welding devices, the use outdoor grills, smoking bees, throwing lit cigarettes, etc. Also, it is recalled that during the fire protection season burning of fields is prohibited.
In the event of a fire, citizens are requested to immediately notify the Fire Service by dialing 199.

The weather tomorrow
According to the prognostic data of the EMY, tomorrow Saturday 10/08 the weather will be generally clear, with temporary clouds in the midday and afternoon hours in the continental areas, so there will be local rain in the mountains.

The winds will be north northeast 3 to 4 and in the east 5 Beaufort, while the temperature will range from 21 to 37 degrees Celsius and in the east 2 to 3 degrees lower.
At Thessaloniki the weather will be generally clear with a few clouds in the midday and afternoon hours, so local showers are likely.
The winds will blow north-northwest 3 to 4 Beaufort and in the midday and afternoon hours in the coastal south with the same intensity. Temperature from 22 to 34 degrees Celsius.
The weather on Sunday
Her Sunday 11/08 the weather will be generally sunny, with temporary clouds in the continental areas, mainly in the mountains, in the midday and afternoon hours.
Winds will blow from north directions 3 to 5 and in the Aegean 6 to 7, locally up to 8 Beaufort.
The temperature will not change appreciably. It will reach continental 35 to 37 and locally 38 degrees, in the Ionian islands, the islands of the eastern Aegean, the Dodecanese and southern Crete 34 to 36 and in the rest of the island country 29 to 31 degrees Celsius.
