–
“Informative book in epistolary format in which Estellerone of the world’s leading Catalan scientists, explains in an understandable way how biomedical research works today and manages to convey the passion he feels for his work”.
What are the concerns of a young person who wants to dedicate himself to science? In twenty-one letters, Dr. Manel Esteller, through his experience and the knowledge he has acquired throughout his career, exposes the keys and tools necessary to become a good researcher.
In the manner of Rilke, Dr. Esteller offers to mentor a young researcher and, among many other pieces of advice, recommends that the desire to know and curiosity can never be lost, that one must always take into account the legacy left by the scientists who have preceded you and, finally, how important are the most widespread pathologies as well as minority diseases. But above all he reminds her that every good researcher has to know how to continually train, share knowledge and discoveries and always investigate with an open mind.
