In an emotional video, Ellie Brelis explained that she had been told when she was on board the flight crew about food allergies and where he stores his EpiPens – which she always did to keep herself safe. Unfortunately, instead of getting help, she had to leave the plane.
Suddenly a lot of people were involved. I was embarrassed and didn’t understand why my allergy had been such a problem when I had flown many times before and never had any problems
– she admitted in an interview with the New York Post. Besides, her luggage went without her.
In a video posted on TikTok, she couldn’t hold back her tears as she expressed her disbelief. “They took me off the plane because of allergies,” she said. Brelis noted that she was returning home to visit a doctor due to serious health problems and did not understand why her condition was treated in such a harsh manner.
The passenger also confirmed that she has been using Delta Airlines services for several years she always told the staff about her health condition. That’s why this situation came as a surprise to her. – Is it my fault? Shouldn’t I mention allergies? – she asked her viewers.
Plus, Delta reps told her that she must consult Medair, a specialist medical service, to ensure she is “fit to fly”. After confirming that she had EpiPens, she was cleared to fly, but was transferred to an overnight cruise where she had no guarantee of safety.
In the end, Brelis decided to cancel her flight with Delta Airlines and came home with JetBlue, where she had no problem. Under the published video, many people shared their experience of traveling with allergies.
I understand that there is always some risk on flights, but it is a part of life and everyone should be able to travel, regardless of their allergies.
– said Brelis in an interview with the New York Post.
