The 24 Premier League players are not even on the bench – Rayototal

Which older players haven’t been able to build a single Premier League squad for their clubs this season, despite being (largely) fit and (almost) capable?

ARSENAL

Eddie Nketiah – He was a little hurt. Very stuck now. It’s not a bad situation for Arsenal, who still have a helpful player to call when injuries or suspensions hit hard, and will still face a court fee if he leaves at the end of his contract next summer. But it seems like an unnecessarily wasted year for a player who could really use his 22 to move on now.

ASTON VILLA

No – Not even the usual third-choice goalkeeper to save us here; Finnish teenager Viljami Sinisalo has broken the bank thanks to Emi Martínez’s travel adventures. The only notable absentees from a selection of games so far, Keinan Davis and Trezeguet, are injured.

BRENTFORD

Julian Jeanvier – Already a favorite among us, as we believe that every feature of ‘One per club’ has been introduced since promoting Brentford. Four league games in his rental period with Turkish Kasimpasa last season will almost certainly reduce this season’s workload.

Luka Racic – Brentford has a surprisingly large collection of central defenders who are nowhere near a game.

Jan Zambrek – Got five minutes off the bench in a 3-0 win over Sheffield Wednesday in February. Not seen since.

Tariqe Fosu – Often a player is left behind when the promotion comes. Fosu appears to be that Brentford player after a deadline to move to Swansea fell through. He started 19 championship games last season, came off the bench in 20 and sat on the bench for the other seven.

Joel valencia – Last season on loan to Legia Warsaw. It didn’t work out very well.

BRIGHTON

Tudor Baluta – Made more first-team appearances for Romania (two) than Brighton (one, at Carabao, two years ago).

BURNLEY

No – The nine substitutes have made a big impact on the previously reliable third-choice goalkeeper who resigned Will Norris has kept Wayne Hennessey on the Anfield bench. The only two senior players left on the bench this season, Kevin Long and Dale Stephens, have injury reserves.

CHELSEA

Marcus Bettinelli – At least the super rich clubs have enough players not to need two goalkeepers to fill a nine-man bench. God bless you.

Poor Sarri – He continues to play a game with Chelsea and did not get a new loan in the summer. He benched for the Zenit game and probably only had three injuries in midfield.

Lewis Baker – In many ways, the archetypal Chelsea player. After 16 years at Chelsea, he played exactly once for the club’s first team, but played 73 games for Vitesse Arnhem, 36 for Trabzonspor, 19 for Reading, 14 for Leeds and Middlesbrough, 12 for MK Dons. and nine with Fortuna Düsseldorf. .

CRYSTAL PALACE

Jaroslaw Jach – One appearance on Carabao and five loans is all Jach has to show for his time at Palace, which expires in January or June when a four-year contract expires. An extension seems unlikely.

EVERTON

James rodriguez – Covid records kept it out of the start of the season. Mutual apathy keeps him away until January, when presumably some sort of match can be devised so that both parties can move on with their lives.

Gylfi Sigurdsson – The Toffees only mentioned a selection of 24 Premier League players. Sigurdsson was not on it.

UNITED LEEDS

No – They didn’t even include a third-choice goalkeeper on their team page on the website, the crazy bastards. Classic crazy jokes from Bielsa.

LEICESTER

Filip Benkovic – The £ 13m transfer from Dinamo Zagreb played his best football with Brendan Rodgers when he was loaned out to Celtic. But that was three years ago, and while a defensive injury crisis has kept Benkovic at the club and on both the national and European teams, it has yet to translate into real football. The opportunities of Carabao and Europe may come.

LIVERPOOL

Loris Karius – Goalkeeper of fourth choice at present. Maybe. Poor soul.

Nat Phillips – Twenty first-team appearances last season were due as much to circumstances as to his own development. He will play a lot less this season, but that’s not his fault; A brilliant new contract this summer showed how much Liverpool value him.

CITY OF MANCHESTER

No – Most of the potential contenders have been loaned, while injuries to Kevin De Bruynes and Phil Fodens have led to promising youth benches. Even Scott Carson took the bench for the 1-0 win at Leicester.

MANCHESTER UNITED

Lee Grant – The fourth option goalkeepers are the new third option goalkeepers. Be The only job now is to tease Ole Gunnar Solskjaer..

NEWCASTLE

No – Small team + Long injury list x Nine substitutes = Room for everyone!

NORTH

Michael McGovern – Norwich may have its problems, but at least they haven’t put two goalkeepers on the bench this season.

Flynn Clarke – He only came from Peterborough in summer and also only 18 so no rush.

SOUTHAMPTON

Harry Lewis – Here come all the third option goalkeepers.

TOTENHAM

Brandon Austin – Third-choice goalkeeper since Alfie Whiteman came on loan to Sweden. He has been on the bench in both stages of the European Conference knockout stages.

Jack Clarke – It didn’t quite work out for Clarke at the Spurs. Even the first loan to Leeds did not work out. He is still awaiting his Premier League debut, but has appeared in three different cup competitions for the full Spurs squad and for Papa John’s with the U-23s.

WATFORD

No – Ben Foster’s injury has secured time on the bench for third Rob Elliot.

WESTERN HAM

Darren Randolph – Goalkeeper of third choice.

David Martin – Fourth choice goalkeeper. Evidence of How Billy Big-Time Got in West Ham; While other clubs have to bench third-choice goalkeepers to make ends meet, the Hammers have not one but two substitute goalkeepers they don’t even need. Her and her elegant London ways.

LOBOS

No – Only two goalkeepers and a relatively small selection of the first team.
