Berlin (dpa) – The following games are on the program for Saturday and Sunday:
VfB Stuttgart – VfL Bochum (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.)
Situation: VfB Stuttgart is deep in the relegation battle and has lost six of the last seven games. VfL Bochum competes with the self-confidence of 4:2 against FC Bayern.
Statistics: A win against FC Bayern was always not a good omen for the task that followed. The Bayern conquerors failed to win eight times in the following game.
Personal: Defense chief Anton (Corona) returns to VfB. Millot, Didavi and Coulibaly (all Corona) are out. Marmoush (Corona) and Kalajdzic (calf problems) were questionable. Bochum are missing Rexhbecaj (suspended). Regular goalkeeper Riemann (Corona) is ready for action again.
special: VfB Stuttgart can count on greater fan support. Thanks to a special permit from the Stuttgart authorities, up to 25,000 spectators are allowed in the stadium earlier than expected.
VfL Wolfsburg – TSG 1899 Hoffenheim (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.)
SITUATION: Wolfsburg recently freed itself from its negative run, Hoffenheim is again a Champions League candidate after beating Bielefeld: Both want to build on that.
PERSONAL: With Grillitsch and Geiger, TSG are missing two important players because of yellow card suspensions. Kramaric is returning after a short compulsory Corona break. Wolfsburg still has to wait for Lukas Nmecha to make a comeback.
STATISTICS: Hoffenheim won just one of 13 Bundesliga games in Wolfsburg.
SPECIAL: In the first leg, TSG brought VfL their first defeat of the Bundesliga season (3-1). It was the beginning of a sporting crash and heralded the end of coach van Bommel.
Arminia Bielefeld – 1. FC Union Berlin (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.)
Situation: Bielefeld has been unbeaten for five home games, after the first defeat in the second half of the season last week in Hoffenheim (0: 2) the lead over the relegation zone is minimal. Union recently lost two games in a row.
Statistics: Arminia could not win any of the three games in the Bundesliga against Union Berlin. The only Union guest appearance in Bielefeld ended goalless almost a year ago.
Personal: Arminia coach Kramer has to do without the sick Prietl, Wimmer is available again after a yellow card suspension. Union is only missing defender Knoche (yellow suspension).
special: Both teams are considered to be extremely strong. The Bielefeld team ran an average of 119.7 kilometers per game this season and have the highest value in the Bundesliga before the 23rd matchday. Union holds the third highest value with 117.8 kilometers.
FC Augsburg – SC Freiburg (Saturday, 3.30 p.m.)
SITUATION: Augsburg relies on seven home games and fan support in the relegation battle. The Freiburg play for the European places. Assistant coach Maurer represents Augsburg’s head coach Weinzierl (Corona).
STATISTICS: FCA has not yet lost at home against the sports club. There were three wins and six draws in the Bundesliga.
PERSONAL: U21 European champion Maier is back at FCA after a corona infection. Freiburg is missing midfielder Keitel (broken toe). The ex-Augsburg Schmid could start again for the first time after a long Corona break.
SPECIAL: Christian Streich made his debut as Bundesliga coach against Augsburg on January 21, 2012 – with a 1-0 home win.
1. FC Cologne – Eintracht Frankfurt (Saturday, 6.30 p.m.)
Situation: Cologne and Frankfurt are in the middle of the table, both within striking distance of the European Cup places. With an away win, the Hessians can overtake Cologne.
Statistics: The balance sheet is almost balanced. In the Bundesliga, Cologne won 32 games against Frankfurt, Eintracht won 31 games. 28 duels ended in a draw.
Personal: Timo Horn replaces the sick Swabian in the Cologne goal. Defense chief Hasebe is back in training after a chest injury. Midfielder Kostic is a candidate for the starting eleven after illness.
special: Compared to the previous season, Cologne (32 points) scored eleven points more after the 22nd matchday. Frankfurt (31) has exactly eleven points fewer than after the 22nd matchday of the 2020/21 season.
FC Bayern Munich – SpVgg Greuther Furth (Sunday, 3.30 p.m.)
SITUATION: The first receives the bottom of the table, so the starting position is clear. But Bayern have not won two competitive games in a row for the first time under coach Nagelsmann.
STATISTICS: Bayern lost 4-2 against Bochum after 16 league games without defeat against a promoted team. And now it’s up against the next climber.
PERSONAL: Gnabry and Coman are ailing at Bayern. Musiala could return after corona infection. Neuer, Goretzka and Davies are still missing. Fürth has the Hertha-Sieges staff to choose from.
SPECIAL: In the second half of the season, Fürth picked up eight points in five games – more than in the first half of the season (5) – and just one less than Bayern (9). In the second half table, Fürth is sixth.
Borussia Dortmund – Borussia Mönchengladbach (Sunday, 5.30 p.m.)
SITUATION: The table second from Dortmund is after the embarrassing 2: 4 against Glasgow Rangers in debt. The guests recently went up again with a draw and a win.
STATISTICS: Both teams meet for the 100th time. With 40:31 victories, BVB is ahead.
PERSONAL: A comeback from BVB striker Haaland seems unlikely. The use of Wolf is just as uncertain. The guests are still missing Stindl.
SPECIAL: Football teacher Rose is in the spotlight. After all, he has been on the Gladbach coaching bench for the past two years. Without a defiant reaction from his team after the 2: 4 against Glasgow, the whistles in Dortmund should be even louder. According to sports director Zorc, however, Rose does not have to worry about his job.
Hertha BSC – RB Leipzig (Sunday, 7.30 p.m.)
Situation: Hertha is still without a win in 2022 and is slipping closer and closer to the relegation zone. Leipzig, on the other hand, are in a Champions League rank for the first time this season before a match day.
Statistics: The capital club is one of RB’s favorite opponents in the Bundesliga. The Leipzig lost only one of the eleven Bundesliga duels with Hertha BSC, won all five Bundesliga guest games in the Olympic Stadium.
Personal: Central defender Kempf returns to the Berliners after surviving the corona infection, while Serdar and Stark are missing after positive tests. The use of Leipzig’s Orban, who was recently absent due to a cold, is still open.
Particularly: RB Leipzig have won five of their eight Bundesliga games under Tedesco, as many wins as in the 14 games under Marsch. With only nine points after nine games, Korkut experienced the weakest start by a Hertha coach since 2012.
