Coupe de France: the 22 qualified for the 6th round!
It is the magic of the Cup, quite simply. This Sunday, in Château-Thébaud, FC Côteaux du Vignoble (1D44 – club photo below) wrote a new event page in the Pays de la Loire by eliminating a second N3 team: Vendée Fontenay Foot after Saint-Nazaire at 3And round. Not far from there, another team from the Nantes vineyard caused a sensation: Elan de Gorges (R2 – club video below)owner of the event and winner of Challans 2 years ago, this time he shot down La Roche VF, another big name in our N3 which has only one representative left (Sablé FC, Challans 3-2 winner during the duel of the last 2 winners of the KMCL Cup of the Pays de la Loire).
The 5 teams of National and N2 passed, but not without trembling: we think in particular of the magnificent performances of the 2 teams of “R1 Intersport”: ASI Mûrs-Erigné and Old Château-Gontier only beaten 2-4 and the shots on goal by Le Mans FC and Olympique Saumur. A second District team will be present at 6amAnd round: ASO Montenay won the duel of the departmental teams at home, against Angers SCA after a good performance (4-2). No other surprises this weekend, but note that the League level teams held their position: 7/11 for the R1 Intersport and R2 formations (barring any procedures – see the results of the 5th round).
The matches of the 6th round scheduled from next weekend (15 and 16 October), the draw will take place this Tuesday evening (19:00) at a major partner of the event (Intemarché) at the store on Boulevard Edison in La Roche sur Yon, with the Coupe de France trophy on display from the end of the afternoon.
