The Russian Grand Prix series is coming to an end. The final stage went to Moscow, but the juniors only lost because of this. If adult skaters will perform in the huge “Megasport”, then their younger colleagues will get the modest “Dream” ice palace, where spectators are not allowed in. This is sad, because young stars can and should be supported too.

Gordeeva coped with all the jumps, but not perfectly. In some places she was a little wobbly, which did not allow her to get big advantages from the judges. Plus, the technical panel found an unclear edge on the triple lutz and an under-rotation on the triple lutz-triple toe loop combination. Of course, Masha can perform much more confidently, which she showed last year. 63.01 points – fifth place after the first day.

Sofia Dzepka became a real discovery of the stage in Krasnoyarsk. In Siberia, she managed to give her best and win the tournament, so it is quite logical that in Moscow she was considered a contender for victory. The figure skater from CSKA chose the well-known blues “I’ll Take Care of You” for the short program, with an application for adult skating. So far, Dzepka has not quite reached the master level, but at the same time, the production does not look like just a backdrop for the girl. Unfortunately, not everything went smoothly regarding the elements. On the triple lutz, Sofia could not resist and went to the step-out, and performed the triple flip-triple toe loop cascade with visible tension. She received 64.65 points for the rental and took an intermediate third position.

The struggle for leadership turned out to be as unpredictable as possible. Alena Prineva from CSKA started the season very confidently, and at her first stage she lost only to the young star from Khrustalny Margarita Bazylyuk. In the short program, the skater performs to the soundtrack from Black Swan, but this is not a ballet performance. Prineva shows her interpretation of the image, and without using the famous tutu. For her age, Alena has powerful skating, so she manages to combine elements with choreography and emotions. Due to an unclear edge on the triple flip, the skater was rated slightly worse than in Ufa. Today it is 70.05 points and second place.

It seemed that no one could beat her result. However, at the very end of the short programs an interesting surprise occurred. Agata Petrova performed to the composition “Flight of the Leaf,” which suited her well. The athlete hears the music well and gets into the accents, so from the point of view of choreography she is well prepared. Plus, a clean rental always leaves a pleasant impression. In Moscow, Agatha was supported by the European champion Sofia Samodurovawho after finishing her career began working as a coach in the group Alexey Mishin. As a result, Petrova received 70.12 points and took first place by a minimal margin.

It’s interesting that Agata’s technique score coincided with Alena’s to within a hundredth – both girls received 38.93 points. The pure execution of the triple flip-triple toe loop cascade was offset by the lack of a bonus for the second half of the program (Prineva’s element comes last). So the score for the components decided everything. However, in the free program the components will not influence so much if the Muscovite copes with the quadruple Lutz.
