The 20H of TF1 in New York for the 20th anniversary of September 11 – Le Journal du week-end

Just 20 years ago, airliners hijacked by Al Qaeda crashed into the World Trade Center in New York and the Pentagon in Washington, bringing down these symbols of American power before the eyes of the world. On the occasion of the anniversary of these attacks which upset the beginning of the 21st century and while the war in Afghanistan, unleashed in retaliation, has come to a chaotic end, the 20H of TF1 mobilized this Saturday to understand and analyze the consequences of this tragedy. Anne-Claire Coudray went to the United States this week to prepare this special page, during which TF1 correspondents in the United States gave a voice to American veterans who served in Afghanistan, as well as to collateral victims of this tragedy. These firefighters and police officers fell ill after inhaling the toxic fumes from the rubble of the World Trade Center. They also show us through its architecture, how resilient New York responded to this trauma. Personalities like the great American reporter Janine di Giovanni and Clifford Chanin, deputy director of the 9/11 memorial, have also answered questions from Anne-Claire Coudray.
