After four days of arduous competition, the Copa El Salvador 2024 came to an end. The event organized by the Salvadoran Swimming Federation was left in the hands of the locals after adding 196 medals: 81 gold, 61 silver and 54 bronze.

One of the most outstanding swimmers in the Cuscatleca delegation was Gerardo Vásquez, who today added eighth and ninth gold in the contest by winning the 50-meter backstroke and 100-meter breaststroke in the U10 men’s category, becoming the most winning athlete in the contest.

Among the results of the closing day of the El Salvador Cup, the dominance of the nationals in the women’s 200 meter butterfly event stands out, in which Valeria Quintanilla (11-12 years old), Alexandra Meléndez (13-14 years old) and Dayana Meléndez (15 and over), from the program Esfuerzo y Gloria, won the gold in their respective categories.

Dayana won the 15 years and older female category by winning five gold medals out of five she fought. She was followed by Sarah Ramos, also from El Salvador, who won four gold, one silver and four bronze.

Almost the same thing happened in the men’s 50 meter backstroke event, in which El Salvador won all the categories except the 15 years and older category, which was won by Diego Morataya, from the Acuatic Club and Swim. Vásquez did his thing in U10, as well as Sana in 11-12 years, while in the 13-14 years division, the country went 1-2-3 thanks to the performances of José Márquez (30.99 seconds), Emerson Campos (33.78 ) and Mateo Quintanilla (33.83).
