On December 7, the 2023 plenary meeting of the second Hainan Province New Energy Vehicle Industry International Expert Advisory Committee was held in Haikou. Wan Gang, chairman of the China Association for Science and Technology and chairman of the World New Energy Vehicle Conference, attended and delivered a speech. Liu Xiaoming, deputy secretary of the Hainan Provincial Party Committee and governor, delivered a speech and issued letters of appointment to the expert members of the new advisory committee.
Wan Gang pointed out that Hainan shoulders the important mission of building a free trade port with Chinese characteristics, a national ecological civilization pilot zone, and an international tourism and consumption center. It is of great significance to promote the development of the new energy automobile industry in the era of green, low-carbon, and innovative development. It is necessary to seize development opportunities, give full play to policy advantages, carefully organize research, and focus on the entire chain of “research, design, manufacturing, exhibition, sales, tourism, competitions, and conferences” to increase investment efforts, strengthen industrial linkage, broaden exhibition and sales platforms, and innovate consumption scenarios, expand application scale, improve service levels, focus on developing the automobile economy, create automobile culture, lead the industry trend, actively integrate into national demonstration city clusters, promote industrial upgrading, demonstration applications, foreign cooperation and exchanges, and create whole-society support to promote the new energy automobile industry The good ecology of development helps realize that “all the world’s cars can enter China, and Chinese people can drive the world’s cars.”
Liu Xiaoming expressed welcome and thanks to everyone on behalf of the Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government. He said that this advisory committee has added industry leaders such as vehicle manufacturing and power batteries, as well as more industry authorities in the fields of intelligent network connection, inspection and testing, etc., which is more in line with the development direction of Hainan. It is hoped that the Advisory Committee will be a good “strategist” and further play the role of an external brain in decision-making consultation; a good “examiner” and further play a role in determining the effectiveness of policy formulation and implementation; and a good “monthly elder” to further play a role in industrial cooperation and project construction. It serves as a link to bring more high-quality enterprises, star projects and professional talents to Hainan. Hainan will achieve mutual benefit and long-term development between government and enterprises through precise policy support.
The new advisory committee has a total of 17 expert members. At the meeting, Chen Zhixin, vice chairman of the advisory committee, made a work summary and outlook. Experts attending the meeting conducted in-depth discussions and offered suggestions and suggestions on the development of new energy vehicles in Hainan.
The meeting was held in a combination of online and offline methods. Meng Qinghai, full-time vice chairman and secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology, Ni Qiang, member of the Standing Committee of the Hainan Provincial Committee and secretary-general, Hou Maofeng, vice-chairman of the Provincial CPPCC, and Fu Xuanchao, secretary-general of the provincial government, attended the meeting.
