The New York Marathon, one of the most emblematic of the world, is back and will take place as usual, on the first Sunday of November, reducing the number of participants from 55,000 to 33,000, after having had to cancel the 2020 edition due to the crisis that covid 19 caused in different parts of the world, including New York.
This was reported by the governor of that city, Andrew M. Cuomo, today. After weeks of discussion and analysis, the authorities decided to authorize the event by reducing the capacity to avoid saturation of spaces, designing the start for small waves of runners, which will further space the competitors and requiring a negative test from each runner.
NEW: The NYC marathon—the world’s biggest—will return on November 7.
33,000 runners will be permitted. Registration opens June 8.

The organizers expect a great interest from runners to try to participate in this edition. Fortunately, little by little, the big events for runners find a place on the calendar, thus renewing the spirit of their competitors.
