Like last year, the Place Billard de Chartres will not host, next April, a selection of winegrowers, representing some of the appellations of Loire wines.
The 2021 edition of the Paulée des vins de Loire, offered each year by the Jallerat family, owners of the hotel-restaurant Le Grand Monarque, has been canceled. The event is a victim of the health situation linked to the Covid-19 epidemic.
“Too many uncertainties”
This is therefore the second year in a row that the Paulée, with its market open to the public, will not be celebrated. A difficult but inevitable decision in the eyes of Bertrand Jallerat:
“At the time when we should have organized the Paulée, we were in complete uncertainty. The lack of perspective is binding. We are not sure that the restaurants will be open in April. There are too many uncertainties for propose the event this year. “

The starred chef Adeline Grattard (Parisian restaurant Yam’Tcha) and the best sommelier in France Pascaline Lepeltier were the guests of honor at this meeting.
Already announced for the 2020 edition, also canceled, the two women will be invited again in 2022, indicates Bertrand Jallerat, who will meet next year, “hoping that the winegrowers have no difficulty with the frost this year”.

The Jallerat family has been organizing the Paulée des vins de Loire since 1983. Since 2002, several great chefs have been involved in the creation of the menu bringing together professionals from the sector.
