The 2020 research award goes to the Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences twice

HAGENBERG. The seven most successful researchers at the Upper Austria University of Applied Sciences with the four faculties of Hagenberg, Linz, Steyr and Wels have been awarded the 2020 research prize by State Councilor for Economic Affairs and Research Markus Achleitner. Two of the award winners are doing research at the FH Hagenberg.

Among the winners is Stephan Winkler from the Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences. Winkler conducts research in the field of bioinformatics, machine learning and evolutionary algorithms at the Faculty of Computer Science, Communication and Media, Hagenberg.

Andreas Beham, also from the Hagenberg University of Applied Sciences, won one of two young researcher prizes. Beham conducts research in the field of heuristic optimization methods at the Faculty of Computer Science, Communication and Media, Hagenberg.

The winners could look forward to winning prizes of EUR 1,000 each.
