The 20-year-old Olympian was kicked out of the village and… ended her career

Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso was asked to leave the Olympic Village after she engaged in “inappropriate behavior.” In response, the athlete, hailed as one of the sexiest female Olympians, decided to… end her career at just 20 years old.

Alonso certainly cannot count the Olympic Games in Paris as successful. The Paraguayan took 6th place in her 100-meter butterfly and did not advance to the semifinals, losing by just 0.24 seconds. To make matters worse, officials of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee asked her to… leave the Olympic Village, where she was staying with the rest of the team, emphasizing that the swimmer had engaged in “inappropriate behavior.” However, they did not provide information on what exactly the athlete had done wrong.

“Her presence created an inappropriate atmosphere within the Paraguayan team. We thank her for following our instructions, because right after our announcement she willingly spent another night outside the Olympic Village,” reads a statement from Larissa Schaerer, head of mission of the Paraguayan Olympic Committee.

“Dear swimming, thank you for making me dream, for making me learn about fighting, perseverance, sacrifice, discipline and many other things. I gave you a part of my life and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world, because thanks to you I lived the best moments. Thanks to you I had thousands of reasons to be happy and I gained a lot of friends from other countries that I will always have in my heart,” wrote Luana Alonso.

The Paraguayan athlete was widely known long before the games, but not because of her sports results, but… her exceptional beauty. The New York Times even placed her in the narrow group of “Sexiest Olympians”.
