The 20 cheapest US cities to build housing

In the face of growing housing demand and economic challenges facing the United States, a recent study has revealed the most attractive cities to build a home.

The report, produced by moveBuddha, draws on census data and other government sources to identify the regions with the greatest growth in new home construction.

The results show a clear trend toward the Southeast and the Sun Belt of the country.

Factors

According to the study, cities leading the construction of new homes are concentrated mainly in Florida, Texas, South Carolina and other southern states.

Factors such as warm weather, a lower cost of living compared to other regions and a greater number of job opportunities could explain this trend.

Cities

Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, tops the list with an average of 10,688 new homes per 100,000 residents.

Close behind are North Port and Lakeland, both in Florida. Cities such as Orlando, Atlanta, Tampa and Miami are also among the top positions, thus consolidating Florida as a leading state in the construction of new homes.

Texas, meanwhile, also stands out with cities such as Dallas-Fort Worth, Houston and Austin among the top 20.

Texas’ economic growth and attractiveness to new residents have fueled strong demand for housing in the state.
