The coin is certainly beautiful. It is one of the 2 Euro commemorative coins coined by Italy as part of the international agreements with the ECB that allow each country to issue personalized coins with the 2 Euro denomination.
The 2 Euro with the Carabinieri were coined in 2014 to celebrate the bicentenary of the foundation of the most loved Italian weapon. Occasion in which the Italian Republic has chosen to use its slot of that year for the issue of this piece. Instead, there are only 5 thousand proof coins (Proof), while the number of Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) is 20 thousand. Both second formats have a much higher value. But what are we talking about specifically?
The 2 Euros with the Carabinieri, in the circulated version but in optimal conditions, have a market value of just under 3 Euros (to date about 2.88 Euros according to specialized sites, ed). The BUs, on the other hand, are worth between 35 and 40 Euros. The Proof versions, on the other hand, are those that can be worth a small treasure: in the original case complete with documentation, they are also sold for figures close to 300 Euros. Given the limited edition of the Proofs, these coins will be subject to an increase in value over time. Will they reach up to 10 thousand euros?
This is very difficult to predict. Coins with this circulation hardly reach that figure. Similar quotes can be found online for certain auctions, but you have to be very careful in these cases.
