The 2 Eclipses in October 2023: Annular Solar Eclipse and Lunar Eclipse | Lhokseumawe

Saiful Bahri Report | Lhokseumawe

SERAMBINEWS.COM, LHOKSEUMAWE – An eclipse is an event where light from a source is blocked by another object.

Such as blocking the Sun’s light by the Moon which causes a solar eclipse.

Or the Earth’s light is blocked, causing a lunar eclipse.

A solar eclipse occurs in the new moon phase.

Meanwhile, a lunar eclipse occurs during the full moon phase.

However, not every new moon will have a solar eclipse and not every full moon will have a lunar eclipse.

This is because the Moon’s orbital plane around the Earth is not parallel to the Earth’s orbital plane around the Sun.

However, the Moon’s orbital plane is tilted with an angle of about 5 degrees.

“If the Moon’s orbital plane were the same as the Earth’s orbital plane, then we can be sure that every new Moon there will be a Solar Eclipse and every full Moon there will be a Lunar Eclipse,” said Head of the Department of Astrology, Faculty of Sharia, IAIN Lhokseumawe, Dr Tgk Ismail, SSy, MA, Wednesday (4/10/2023).

Tgk Ismail continued, in October 2023, globally there will be 2 eclipses, 1 solar eclipse and 1 lunar eclipse.

The details:

1. Annular Solar Eclipse, 15 October 2023 AD, 29 Rabiul Awal 1445 AH.

There are four types of solar eclipses, the first is a total solar eclipse, where when the peak of the eclipse occurs, the entire disk of the Sun is covered by the disk of the Moon so that the Sun looks black and emits beautiful corona light.
