With the purpose of creating academic spaces that promote the professional educational growth of students and teachers in the musical field, the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (Inbal), through the General Subdirectorate of Artistic Education and Research (Sgeia) and the National Conservatory of Music (CNM), carries out the 1st Congress of Musical Education and Trainingfrom January 15 to 19 of this year.

During the opening ceremony, the director of the CNM, Silvia Navarrete, stated that currently we are facing a 21st century full of challenges and music education is no exception. “We know that this academic meeting will contribute to updating and provide more resources to overcome these challenges.”

In front of teachers, students, lecturers and workshop leaders, from the CNM and other institutions, the head of the CNM celebrated the holding of the congress.

In his speech, the deputy academic director of the CNM, Raúl Wenceslao Capistrán, stressed that this congress responds to the interest of creating spaces that allow listening and exchanging ideas, proposals, opinions and ways of thinking; For his part, teacher Job Martínez, coordinator of the CNM Teaching Academy, reiterated the importance of holding this type of meetings that stimulate the development of musical training and teaching.

The congress integrates conferences, concerts and workshops on open pedagogies, the Suzuki Method, numerical concerns about music education, the fundamental problems and errors of music education and the process of selecting works until their public presentation.

It also includes discussions about pianism in Mexico and Latin America, the emotional environment of the teacher, an approach to chamber music, the experience of music education in innovative projects, musical artistic awareness and the Latin American perspectives of music education programs, among others. others.
