The 19th “Goodness Train” carrying aid to Afghanistan has arrived in Herat

The 19th “Goodness Train” carrying humanitarian aid materials carried out with the support of non-governmental organizations operating in Turkey passed through the Turgundi border crossing on the border of Turkmenistan and reached the Herat province of Afghanistan. SIA reports with reference to Anadolu Agency that the said aid will be distributed to thousands of families in Afghanistan.

More than 500 tons of humanitarian aid, including tents, blankets, generators, food, kitchen and hygiene supplies, will be distributed mainly to the earthquake-affected areas of Herat province and Afghan migrants repatriated from Pakistan along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.

Cenk Unal, head of Turkey’s mission in Kabul and temporary chargé d’affaires, noted that Turkey stands by the Afghan people in difficult times and humanitarian aid will continue.

Officials of the Taliban administration also thanked Turkey and its institutions for the said assistance.
